Welcome to the Studio

At long last I am back to my blog and am so happy to keep you up to date with everything going on in the studio.

There are so many social networking options available out there that I have decided that Blogging would be the best option for me to be able to share my creations and what I am working on and still allow me ample time to create my creations too.

I will share as much as possible of works in progress and ideas I am planning, along with my new passion of Art Dolls and clay sculpture.

I will have some awesome give aways here, and items that can only be purchased through me from my blog, make sure to follow me and keep up to date of all that is happening in the studio.

Be sure to visit my website and take the studio tour too so that you can see where all the magic happens.

New Art Doll in the Works

Hi everyone, sorry it has been a few days, been working away in the studio and got caught up in the moment, don't you love when that happens?
I have been working on a new art doll, she is going to have a special theme but I haven't started on the rest of her display yet so that will still be a secret for now. But until then I can tell you she will be in the steam punk style.
Here are her photos before her hair and make up
And here she is after hair and make up. I still have more work to do with her hair as far as styling it, and she also needs her steampunk goggles, but this should give you a good idea of how she is looking. I love how her freckles turned out.

Character Grizzly Cub on eBay

He is on ebay shortly also

Sphynx Cat is Finished

Hi Everyone, I have finished the Sphynx cat and am very pleased with how he turned out.
I found a wonderful painting technique that works wonderful on polymer clay (there is nothing worse than seeing an amazing sculpt go bad when too much paint is used) I used Acrylic inks on the Sphynx cat in light washes and was able to achieve the look of the skin coming through the wrinkles and in the coloring the way it would for a real sphynx cat.

As for Size he did end up too big to be 1:12 scale, but is the perfect size for a 16" fashion doll or a Yo SD size Ball Jointed Doll. I love how he looks with my Little Fee.

I did list him on eBay, so if anyone wants to peek at the rest of his photos here is his link.

Miniature Clay Cat in the works

Hi Everyone, this week I have been working in clay, and decided to try my hand at making a doll house miniature Sphynx Cat. I was shooting for 1:12 scale, but she may have gotten a bit big on me.
here are her work in progress pictures, I can't believe the detail I was able to get in such a tiny scale, the magnifying glass came in really handy.
She is sculpted out of Prosculpt Polymer clay with an inner armature of strong wire and aluminum foil. The first part of the armature had some clay added and then baked for stability and durability.
I apoligize for the bluriness in some photos, my camera had a really hard time focusing on her where she is so small before I switched to the macro lens and settings.

Polar Cub WIP

The little cub I introduced you to on Monday is coming along nicely.
I have decided to go with making him a polar cub since I rarely do any polar cubs. She is now just waiting to have her shading done, and possibly a little friend to keep her company....also undecided of whether she will be dressed or nekkid! I picture her with a tutu but will have to see.

Happy Monday

Hi Everyone, Happy Monday! I got started on a new bear this weekend using a new technique I wanted to try and am very happy with how he turned out so far. I am very eager this morning to get to the studio and work on him. Here are his WIP photos

This guy was a new pattern I created but made the muzzle area too small so he was destined for the bin, I had a spark of an idea yesterday and ran with it, instead being binned I gave him an apoxy sculpted muzzle and then applied german alpaca piece by piece to the muzzle to make it match the rest of his head. I am really happy at the results this gave me. Very eager to get him finished now.

I am undecided on what colors to finish him in, should I leave him white and shade him as a polar bear, or do him as more of a black or brown bear? Let me know what you think I should do with him for colors :)

I have been working on a weimeraner puppy who is turning out awesome too!

Here is another cub that I have been working on for a while, he is a whimsical Grizzly cub, who should also be finished soon, I hope!

Exciting news!
Isis and Valentine have made it I to the final round of voting in the URSA awards, yay. Now it is time to vote again, but this time you can only vote for one creation out of all of the finalists.
